X

Relays posts that mention or reply to your X account, quote posts, and direct messages into Intercom, and posts your replies back.

Before you start

X is the one channel that uses your own X developer app rather than OmniSaaSy's. You need:

• An X developer account with a project and app.
• The app's API key and API secret (consumer key and secret).
• The app's OAuth 2.0 client ID and client secret, with OAuth 2.0 user authentication enabled.
• To be an Owner of the OmniSaaSy workspace, because the developer app is entered under Settings, which only Owners can reach.

Connect

1. Add your developer app

1. Open Settings, then Channels.
2. Under X (Twitter), choose Add X credentials.
3. Enter a Name, the API key (consumer key), API secret (consumer secret), OAuth2 client ID and OAuth2 client secret, and choose Connect. OmniSaaSy verifies the keys with X before saving them.

Use Edit credentials to change them later. Changing them may break accounts already connected through the app, which then need reconnecting.

2. Connect the account

1. On the Channels page choose Add Channel, then X (Twitter).
2. Sign in to X with the account to relay and approve the requested access to read and write posts, media and direct messages.
3. The Set up X panel opens. Choose Confirm.

One property is created for the X account.

3. Authorise direct messages

Receiving direct messages needs a second authorisation from X. Open the property's tile: if Authenticate Direct Messages is shown, choose Authorize and sign in to X again. Until you do, direct messages are not received.

Sign in with the right account

If you sign in to X as a different account from the one being connected, OmniSaaSy refuses with The X account credentials you have provided do not match the linked account. Sign out of X in your browser and try again.

What is relayed into Intercom

X pushes events to OmniSaaSy as they happen.

• Posts that mention your account or reply under one of your own posts, filtered by Relay mentions, Relay post replies and Relay quote tweets. Your own posts are not relayed. The note carries the post being replied to and the original post.
• Direct messages, when Relay direct messages is on.
• Images are relayed with the message. Videos and animated GIFs cannot be relayed; the conversation gets a note asking you to request them another way.

Each post conversation carries the note Only your first response will be relayed for this message.

Replying

• Post replies are posted once. A second reply is refused with a note; delete the original and send again to change it.
• A post reply can carry up to four images; a direct message reply can carry one.
• X refuses posts with duplicate content, and replies to posts that have been deleted or are not visible to your account. Each refusal is reported as a note on the conversation.
• Redacting your reply in Intercom deletes the post on X.

Settings

Enable Relay, Allow responses from Fin AI, Relay bot/workflow responses, Relay post replies, Relay mentions, Relay direct messages and Relay quote tweets. See Configuring channels.

Connection notes

X access is refreshed hourly. If the tile shows Connection expired, open it and choose Re-authenticate.
