Connecting channels
A channel is a platform your customers write to you on. Connecting one links the platform account to your workspace and creates a property for each thing OmniSaaSy will watch on it. This page covers the steps common to every channel. Each channel's own page covers what differs.
Who can connect channels
Owners and Managers. Members can see the Channels page but cannot add anything.
Add a channel
- Open the Channels page in the portal.
- Choose Add Channel.
- Pick the platform. The options are Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), Google Play, Google Business, App Store and Trustpilot.
- Complete the platform's connection flow. For most channels this is signing in to the platform and approving the access OmniSaaSy asks for. App Store asks you to paste an API key instead, and Trustpilot asks for your business domain first.
- Some channels then ask you to choose what to track: an app for App Store and Google Play, a set of business locations for Google Business. The others create properties for everything the connected account can see.
- The Set up panel opens with the channel's relay settings. These are the same settings you can change later. Choose Confirm to finish, or Cancel to keep the defaults.
The new properties appear on the Channels page under their platform's card.
What a property is
| Channel | Connect with | Property |
|---|---|---|
| Apple App Store | App Store Connect API key | One app, chosen from the key's apps |
| Facebook login | One per Page the login administers | |
| Instagram Business login | The Instagram account | |
| Google Business | Google login | One per business location you select |
| Google Play | Google login | One app, entered by package name |
| Trustpilot | Business domain, then Trustpilot login | The Trustpilot business account |
| X | Your own X developer app, then X login | The X account |
How messages reach OmniSaaSy
Facebook, Instagram, X and Trustpilot push events to OmniSaaSy the moment they happen. App Store, Google Play and Google Business have no push mechanism, so OmniSaaSy checks them every 30 minutes for new reviews. Reviews older than two weeks are not relayed, so connecting a long-established app or location does not flood Intercom with history.
Connection health
The property's tile shows the connection state:
- Connection expired: the platform stopped accepting OmniSaaSy's credentials. Open the tile and choose Re-authenticate, which runs the platform sign-in again. App Store and Google Play have no re-authenticate button; connect the channel again from Add Channel instead.
- Webhook disabled: the platform refused the event subscription OmniSaaSy relies on. Trustpilot is the channel that reports this; open the tile and choose Configure Webhooks.
Where a platform issues short-lived credentials, OmniSaaSy refreshes them in the background. You only see one of the states above when a refresh fails, most often because access was revoked on the platform side.
Removing a channel
Open the property's tile and use Remove Integration, then Remove. This stops tracking the account and cannot be undone. Any licence it held becomes unassigned and can be given to another property.
